Meet the Founder
Dr. Nilay Donmez is a triple board-certified pediatrician — a distinction held by only a small number of pediatricians nationwide.
Her training spans multiple leading institutions, including Boston Children’s Hospital, Cleveland Clinic, and Children’s National, where she completed her subspecialty fellowship. She has worked within some of the largest pediatric healthcare systems in the country and currently holds faculty appointments at Weill Cornell and NYU, maintaining close collaboration with specialists to provide seamless, unfragmented care.
Through years in large medical systems, Dr. Donmez witnessed a recurring frustration among parents — limited access, rushed visits, and a lack of personalized guidance. She founded First Steps Pediatrics to offer a different model: one centered on time, access, and thoughtful, relationship-based care, particularly during the critical early years of a child’s development.
Her approach is shaped by both American and European training — combining the rigor and precision of U.S. medicine with a more holistic, thoughtful perspective on child development and family care.
